About Me:

“Silence, or inactivity, is constant speech. Inactivity is constant activity.” When I read the aphorism of the great sage Ramana Maharshi, I thought it at best paradigm changing and at worst incomprehensible. Whatever the case, I knew that I needed to read more and discover the truth of his message.

The past ten years of exploration have lead me to believe that the Buddha had it right when he described the Four Noble Truths.

A life of attachments will only lead to suffering. And cessation of attachments is liberation.

I'm certainly still attached. (To what? There isn't enough room to list them all here.) But the path to Awakening is one that pushes me to explore, trust, and love more. Thankfully, the works of Maslow, Wilber, Adyashanti, Gangaji, and others have directed me in my search.

Of course there is career, there is income, there is physical health, and relationships. I'm motivated by all of these and have accomplished various levels of success in each. And I believe that they all play an important part in the big picture of finding my original face (as in the Zen question, “What is your original face? The face you had before you were born?”).

The journey is often confusing and frustrating, but one that I wouldn't trade for any other.
